But other people can’t have all the fun, and you can block out days, weeks, as long as you like, to experience the serenity and natural wonder of the Murray yourself. Currently moored on the bank of the Murray River at the Riverglen Marina, “Bill’s Boathouse” is a beautiful, sustainable boathouse which sleeps two (plus two on the sofa-bed) and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a creative working stay or just to get out of the house.
Constructed by award-winning “Home of the Year” 2010 & 2011 design construct builder SWALE, with its tough, very low-maintenance military-grade steel pontoon, modern concept floating eco pod is a stylish getaway and comes furnished and ready to start taking bookings from day 1. The Sustainable design includes Solar panels (not currently connected) with gas bottle connections to go completely off-grid if required.
Bill’s Boathouse was featured in the first episode of Realestate.com.au’s “Future Homes” series, described as “a masterpiece of fluid design”. See the video below: “Inside a tiny and transportable modular boat home”.
Offering a spacious kitchen and Webber barbecue for those who love to cook, a desk for creative types, with amenities like a hot plate appliance, small oven, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, and dishwasher. When you’re in full relaxation mode, the wrap-around timber deck offers sensational views directly facing the river. Grab a deck chair or a sun lounger, soak in the sunset and embrace the fun of river life! When the sun decides to set, you may wish to light the fire or soak in a steaming outdoor bath. There’s also fishing rods and tackle plus two outdoor sun chairs for those waiting to be fed.
